We are overwhelmed with gratitude and excitement as we reflect on the incredible success of our 2023 ‘Food & More’ Gala. We appreciate our donors, sponsors, guest speakers, and the community who participated and supported the event. We raised an astounding $92,000 for our mission to foster self-reliance in individuals, families, and the community.
A Night to Remember
The Gala was a night to remember, filled with laughter, inspiration, and a shared commitment to making a positive impact on our community. We were honored to have three remarkable speakers who shared their insights and passion for our cause. Jordyn Briston, Miss Greater Salt Lake, graced us with her presence and spoke eloquently about the importance of community engagement and service. Hina Erickson, CASFB AmeriCorps program director, inspired us with her journey from needing help from the pantry to her work leading volunteers who are focused on alleviating food insecurity. Their words resonated deeply with all who attended and reminded us that we are all one big family!
Our very own CEO, Karen McCandless, also addressed the attendees, expressing her heartfelt gratitude for the continuous support and dedication of our community. She emphasized how every dollar raised directly impacts the lives of those we serve, ensuring that families in need have access to basic resources, like food and shelter, as well as resources that support long-term self-sufficiency, like our Circles initiative and our financial literacy and homebuyer education classes.
